Editorial standards

The rules our content has to pass

Trust is the whole product. These are the standards every guide, state page, and explainer on this site is held to.

Accuracy first, always sourced

Every factual claim about coverage, requirements, or regulations is tied to a primary source — a state DMV, the NAIC, the III, or a federal agency — and cited on the page.

Licensed review before publication

A licensed property & casualty professional reviews each guide and state page for accuracy before it goes live, and again when the underlying rules change.

No rates or carrier claims without substantiation

We do not publish specific premium figures, savings claims, or carrier comparisons that we cannot substantiate. Where pricing is discussed, it is explained as a mechanism, not a promise.

Editorial independence from revenue

The team that writes and reviews content is separate from the relationships that fund the site. Compensation never determines a recommendation.

Dated and kept current

Guides carry a visible last-updated date. State requirements are re-checked on a regular cycle and whenever a change is reported.

Corrections in the open

If we get something wrong, we fix it and note material corrections. Reach us any time through our contact page.
