About us

Heritage Auto Coverage exists to make one confusing purchase clearer

We are an auto insurance comparison and education service. We are not an insurance company or agency, and no carrier owns any part of us.

What we do

Auto insurance is one of the few purchases people make every year without ever really understanding what they are buying. We fix that in two ways: we publish clear, sourced guides to how coverage works, and we let drivers compare real rates from multiple insurers in one place. The education is free, and it does not depend on you buying anything.

How we stay objective

We make money through referral relationships with insurers and marketplaces — explained in full on our How We Make Money page. Crucially, that compensation never changes the price you are quoted and never decides what our guides recommend. Our editorial team and our business relationships are kept deliberately separate.

Who reviews our work

Every coverage guide and state page is written by our editors and reviewed by a licensed property & casualty professional before it publishes. When rules change — and state requirements change often — we update the page and its last-reviewed date.
